Pull Out Waves
To style, make sure you pull about 70-80% of the waves out before you start flat ironing. Remember the fewer passes you go through with your flatiron, the less damage you will cause.
Work in Sections
Work with sections generally half as wide as the width of your flatiron and half as long as your flatiron is long.
Use Comb With Flat Iron
Make sure you use a carbon or hard rubber comb to prevent the comb from melting under the heat of the flatiron. Place the comb in before you start ironing and follow the comb with the flatiron to make sure the hair is detangled and straightened before it even enters the flatiron.
